The Walker family represents an incredible three generations of Belmont alumni. Recently Jeff and Pam Walker, through their company Walker Investments, established the Walker Family Endowed Scholarship for Belmont Athletics to support student-athletes in Belmont’s Motion Picture’s program. Belmont will name the Balcony and Conference Room in the new athletic facility after the family in response to their generous commitment.

How did you first decide to be involved with Belmont University?

We are a three generation family at Belmont.  My parents attended Belmont University back in the 1950’s and met one another at the school.  Belmont was already high on my priority list when I decided to attend in the fall of 1979.

When did you make your first gift to Belmont?

Approximately in 1984, the first year after graduation.

Why do you want to support Belmont as an institution ?

There are many reasons, but foremost our family believes in Belmont’s mission.  The character, integrity and caliber of the students produced, along with the impact upon our family spanning three generations all contribute to our commitment.  My parents met one another at Belmont, I met my wife (Pam) at Belmont, and the most recently my son Adam graduated in 2017 in the new Motion Pictures program.

Why are you supporting athletics specifically?

Our love of Belmont basketball, and all sports at the school, makes it easy to support Belmont athletics.  The student-athletes are easy to cheer on and specifically have produced numerous academic All-Americans.  Bottom line, Belmont basketball is fun, produces winners, and does it all with a first class coaching staff.

What about your experience with Belmont inspired this gift?

We’ve been attending Belmont basketball for years.  It’s the best entertainment value in town, and that’s saying something.  Friends and associates that I bring to games get “hooked”.  I encourage others to attend some games to see just how true this statement is.

As a donor, what would you like to see for Belmont’s future?

Keep on rolling. We hope to see similar outstanding facilities and competition at the highest level.  Belmont is fully invested into winning programs and academic excellence. Between the athletic facilities, the College of Business (where I studied), music business, arts and entertainment, law school, new medical school, and so many other things too numerous to mention, the campus is stunning.

Why would you encourage others to give to Belmont?

Belmont provides the ability to network with peers in the business world and a connection to the hot city of Nashville. As an avid sports fan, there is just no better value or return on your investment.
