How did you first become aware of/involved with Belmont University?

Our son, Jon Ashley Duncan, attended Belmont University and played basketball under Coach Byrd from 1988-1992. We first became involved with the Belmont community by attending our son’s many games.

Why do you want to support Belmont?

We want to honor our son’s memory. Ashley passed away in 2008, so we endowed the Jon Ashley Duncan Memorial Scholarship for Men’s Basketball to support student athletes in Belmont’s basketball program. This scholarship is a part of his legacy. We have always been appreciative of Belmont’s basketball program.

Why are you supporting scholarships specifically?

Belmont is an excellent school. We have always been impressed with what they do, what they stand for and the principles that they uphold for their students.
